A few weeks ago I went to Platform HQ to mill about a bit. While I was there, I took my pick from a couple of the CDs that were lying around, choosing mainly on a basis of album art and quantity of tracks. If I’d been paying attention, I might have been happy with the Frankmusik EP. I certainly wouldn’t have taken home the upcoming double disc re-release of Pavement’s seminal 1997 indie release ‘Brighten the Corners’.
I don’t know anything about Pavement. To be honest, I’d never heard of them before yesterday. A quick Wikipedia search reveals that ‘they are noted by some critics as the most popular and most influential American indie rock band of the 1990s’ but I couldn’t pick them out of a line-up.
And so I haven’t reviewed it. I’ve done these instead:
