I can safely say that there is nothing “Safe” about this tune when it drops in the Dance. However, “Donut Shop” is a decent collection 4-track EP of previously unreleased Dilla beats, if pricey.
BUT, as it says on the gold seal in the corner, it does come with Serato tone vinyl things and 2 donut slip mats. VERY NICE!
The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble are 8 brothers who’s father (Phil Cohran) played in the experiential outer-planetary jazz outfit Sun Ra. They started busking in Chicago, and now tour the world with a brass band amalgamation of Hip Hop, Jazz and AfroBeat. Their most recent EP “Heritage” is out on Irish label Choice Cuts and was recorded while they were stuck in Dublin after a gig due to the Icelandic ash cloud.
Any more questions…?
OH! and there’s a track on “Heritage” that is a cover of an Outkast track. The name of which I can’t remember, but it’s definitely Outkast.
….. is the new album from the multi-talented mysterious producer Kwes.
He sees colours through music or hears music through colours…. I can’t remember the full story, but either way it inspires him to create a kaleidoscope of crazy beats that don’t resonate with everyone.
Either way!! I like it.
He’s in the Boiler Room with Micachu (Kwesachu) and The Young Turks pose next week.
