Western European criminals don’t scare me at all. I don’t think I could keep a straight face if I was being mugged or kidnapped in Belgian or France, their accents would make me feel like they’d read too much Sartre to take a screwdriver to my knees with any real feeling.

Take me to Eastern Europe, where human life has no meaning, and yeah, I’d start getting scared, but if you want to really shit me up, put me in contact with the criminals of Northern England.

Maybe it’s because I’m from the South, and people from the North are my natural predator, but Northerners just have that edge on the rest of Europe in terms of sheer brutality and menace, so, it’s great that someone has converted Tin Tin cartoons into something that will hold my attention and instill some genuine edge of my seat fear into my viewing experience, instead of me just thinking ‘Belgians are soft’.
