D Boon, smart, passionate and witty singer and guitarist with the mighty Minutemen, died in a car crash 25 years ago today.

Even if you’re not a fan of angular, intelligent and passionate independent guitar music that was like a less stuck up Fugazi years before Fugazi, you’ll still enjoy ‘We Jam Econo’ -the 2000 documentary about the band- as it stands alone as a very watchable and moving story of friendship, meaning it and originality.
