Cold Cave sound like they’re northern and from the eighties, but they’re actually American and from now.
They’ve got a Throbbing Gristle/Human League/New Order synth pop thing going on, and feature the guy from noise group Prurient, someone from Xiu Xiu and a third person from Parts And Labor. They’re fronted by a guy called Wesley Eisold, who was in one of my fave bands ever, that used to be American Nightmare, then became Give Up The Ghost, then split up.
They have a great pedigree, and there’s lots of links for you to follow. Also, their artwork rips off early Nick Cave, so what’s not to like?
